Project Milestones

2024 Project timeline for Basketball Court, Picnic Shelter, Multiuse Field:

  • Spring – Finalizing construction documents and permits.
  • Summer- Bidding process
  • Fall – Tentative construction.

Anticipated Phase 1 Implementation Schedule:

  • Community Engagement around Project Prioritization: Spring/Summer 2021
  • Community Engagement on Design:  Fall/Winter 2021
  • Finalize design and bring concept to Board: Spring/Summer 2022
  • Construction of Playground: Fall 2022

Project History

On September 28, 2016, the South Service Area Master Plan was approved by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board of Commissioners. The master plan for Corcoran Park is included in the overall service area master plan.

Background

The Project will focus on building phase 1 of the Corcoran Park Master Plan. Staff will have a better understanding of what Phase 1 improvements will be after discussing it with the community. Some of the discussion would include what to prioritize in the Corcoran Master Plan and then the project will focus on the design of the prioritized amenities.

  • NPP20 funds $956,181 (2021 Capital Improvement Program)
