The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) typically allows comments on social media posts so people can share questions, feedback, and concerns, although it reserves the right to disable comments on its posts. Comment moderation is viewpoint-neutral, and comments critical of the MPRB will not be censored as long as they do not violate the conditions listed below.
Please be advised that the MPRB reserves the right to hide, remove or otherwise not allow comments on all of its social media platforms in the following categories:
- Content that encourages violating any federal, state, or local law
- Threats to any person or property
- Content that violates a legal ownership interest (copyright or trademark)
- Obscene, profane, sexual, or pornographic content and/or language
- Content that promotes discrimination based on race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or age
- Private, personal information about a person published without their consent
- Statutorily private, confidential, or nonpublic data
- Information that directly interferes with or compromises ongoing investigations, public safety tactics, or the safety of public safety officers
- Multiple successive off-topic posts by a single user or repetitive posts copied and pasted by multiple users
- Spam, fraud, or links containing malware or viruses
- Promotion or endorsement of commercial services, products, or entities that do not have an approved agreement with the MPRB that permits such promotions
- The promotion or endorsement of a political campaign or candidate
