Bde Maka Ska Pop-up Skatepark A temporary skate park facility to be constructed in part of the north parking area at Bde Maka Ska Park

Recently, an unpermitted skate facility appeared at the northeast corner of Bde Maka Ska. That facility was found to interfere with vendor operations.  As the facility attracted significant attention from the skate community, the process of defining an alternate location was initiated.

Staff reviewed several potential locations within Bde Maka Ska Park for such a facility with City of Skate and identified a space for a temporary—or “pop-up”—skate facility in a portion of the north parking area at Bde Maka Ska Park.

Staff has identified several elements being removed as part of other park enhancements within the park system that can be repurposed as skate features.  These elements along with precast features created in-house will comprise the skate features for the pop-up skatepark.
