Phase 1 improvements project begins at Van Cleve Park

The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) is pleased to announce a new improvements  project at Van Cleve Park.

Improvements will be based on the master plan for the park, which is part of the East of the River Master Plan that covers neighborhood parks in Northeast/Southeast Minneapolis and was approved last year. Anticipated areas of focus include:

  • Playground updates (pink/purple areas in the image above), including changes based on current ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements.
  • Lighting improvements along the park’s southwest path (lower right in the image above), based on community engagement conducted by the Southeast Como Improvement Council for priorities beyond the playground updates.
