Construction at North Commons is part of major project to expand and transform facilities at North Commons Park. When complete, this park will be a new Northside hub for arts, recreation, athletics and community activities, with new waterpark, three-gym fieldhouse and renovated community center.
October Construction Update
Work on Site
- Evacuation for the field house is complete and work to place footings and foundations for this part of the new building is in progress.
- Utility connections are complete north of the park along Golden Valley Road and west of the park along Morgan Avenue.
What’s Next
- Utility connections will now move to the east side of the park along James Avenue. Vehicle traffic will be permitted along James during the construction.
- Footing and foundation installation for the west wing of the building will begin this month.
- Once the field house footings are complete, contractors will backfill the area around the perimeter of the new building.
