History & Funding

The North Service Area Master plan was completed and approved by MPRB in 2019.

This project will design and construct a new ½ basketball court at Sumner Field Park. The design for the basketball court will be guided by the park’s Master Plan. Sumner Field Park was allotted $100,000 in NPP20 funding for basketball improvement. This funding will go towards staff, consultant time, community engagement, design, and construction.

Anticipate for the sidewalks and the parking lot along 10th Avenue N. to be temporarily closed.

Due to community engagement and funding the project was on hold until additional funding became available. In 2024 an additional $738,000.00 has been allotted in NPP20 funding.
