New fitness equipment coming to Lake Nokomis Park
Replacement of six fitness stations on the east side of the lake is scheduled to be complete in August
Timeline
The new equipment installation will be completed by mid-August, 2025, with old equipment being removed late summer and early fall.
Background & Funding
Background
The locations for the six new pieces of fitness equipment have been selected and excavated.
MPRB employees, including you participating in job training programs, will install the equipment. This special project enables youth to work alongside professional staff in Asset Management and the Trades, and gain exposure to future career paths.
Funding
MPRB staff submitted a project proposal to the Minneapolis Parks Foundation’s People for Parks Fund, which approved the project for funding.
