Cedar Lake Regional Park Woodland Restoration The Cedar Lake Regional Park Woodland Restoration Project has the goal of removing the established buckthorn and major woody invasive species within the woodland area, control new buckthorn seedling and resprouts, and establish a healthy palette of native plant species.

Fall/Winter 2024 – Initial Buckthorn Removal
Fall 2025 – First follow up control of resprouts and seedlings
Fall 2026 – Second follow up control of resprouts and seedlings
Spring 2027 – Native seeding of buckthorn removal areas
Summer 2027 through Fall 2028 – Herbaceous invasive species management of seedling areas
