Minneapolis Wading Pools to Open Memorial Day Weekend

Pools will open Saturday, May 28

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) will begin opening most of their 63 popular wading pools on Saturday, May 28 in time to enjoy over the holiday weekend.

Most wading pools (except school site wading pools) will open Sat., May 28 and remain open through Mon., September 5. Wading pools located in parks adjacent to a Minneapolis Public School building will open Wed., June 8 and remain open through Sun., August 28 just prior to school resuming Mon., August 29. The full list of MPRB wading pools and their scheduled opening dates is found below.

Wading pools are open daily from 10 am to 9 pm and are free to use. Wading pools have no lifeguards on duty, so parents and children are advised to have fun while keeping safety in mind. The MPRB offers more than 75 locations to cool off during the summer, including wading pools, beaches and water parks.
