Erik Toftner is entering his 30th year as a PGA Professional. His career as a Certified Teaching Instructor started at Hillcrest and Mendakota Country Clubs. In 2004, he joined the golf staff at the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board.
Erik’s passion, enthusiasm and his extensive knowledge of the game, combined with his many years of playing competitively, enable him to guide and train golfers of all abilities to achieve their maximum level of performance. Erik works with players by supporting their existing skill-set, while helping them apply new techniques to better their game. He uses and shares video analysis in all of his lessons. Erik is a well known leader in the golf community, giving his personal attention to students, identifying what they need to work on to bring their game to the next level. Erik teaches year-round and accepts appointments for golfers of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
When Erik is not on the lesson tee, he continues to play competitive golf in the MN PGA Section. He also enjoys learning new teaching styles and techniques. Erik will be splitting his time coaching at Hiawatha GC & Learning Center and Yamaha Golf & Utility.

Chris Borgen grew up playing junior golf at Hiawatha Golf Course, winning the Club Championship as a teenager. He played Division One golf at the University of Houston, where he was an All-American and won a collegiate tournament. After college he played seven years of professional golf on mini tours and qualified for four PGA Tour events. He won several mini tour tournaments and made one check on the PGA tour. He shot his lowest score of 62 four times. Now in his 50’s, he remains competitive in golf and recently won the Minnesota Golf Champions and the Minnesota State Senior Open.
Chris has taught golf for the past 25 years and continues to learn more about the game and swing. His extensive knowledge of movement and biomechanics, combined with tournament experience gives him a unique ability to help golfers from beginners to advanced. He has expertise in teaching the fundamentals as well as power and speed development. Many of his students shoot their lowest scores after working with him.

Logan Toftner is a Teaching Professional at Hiawatha Golf Course, where he grew up learning and playing the game. Born and raised in Minneapolis, Logan is passionate about teaching at his home course and helping others enjoy and improve at the game he loves.
He is an Associate in the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program and recently spent several years in Arizona refining his skills and completing coursework toward Class A PGA Membership. That experience combined with his competitive background and deep love for the game gives him a well-rounded approach to instruction.
Logan’s teaching philosophy is built on strong fundamentals, natural movement, and a feel-based style that’s easy to understand and apply. Whether you’re new to golf or working toward lower scores, he tailors each lesson to fit your swing, your mindset, and your goals.
He offers private lessons, group sessions, junior instruction, and on-course coaching. Logan believes every golfer can improve with the right mindset, the right plan, and a little fun along the way.

Aaron Shafranski

Aaron Shafranski is a Teaching Professional for the Grant Shafranski Golf Academy at Columbia Golf Course and the Director for The First Tee of the Twin Cities. Aaron played collegiate golf at Northern Michigan University. He started his career with The First Tee of Minneapolis as Assistant Coach in 2015 and has since been working with golfers of all ages and skill levels. Aaron is in the PGA Apprentice program working to become a Class-A PGA Member.
Aaron uses TrackMan technology to help break down the details of each individual swing by evaluating distance, speed, angles, and more. Aaron believes that the easiest way to improve is by simplifying the golf swing, strong fundamentals, and eliminating swing thoughts. He believes that increasing your enjoyment of the game is key to improving skills. Aaron believes in setting realistic goals and using them as building blocks to develop a better golf game.
In his free time, Aaron enjoys working on his own golf game and experiencing different courses around the country. Off the course, Aaron loves to travel and to spend time with his friends, family, and his new puppy. He also enjoys rooting for any and all Wisconsin sports teams—don’t hold it against him!
