Construction is 45 percent complete!

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is making a historic investment to expand and transform facilities at North Commons Park. When completed, the park’s northeast corner will include a new three-gym fieldhouse, lobby and renovated community center, as well as a new waterpark.
Project Updates
- Structural steel and roof decking for the field house and aquatics wing is 100% complete.
- Structural glulam wood beams salvaged from the old water park building continue to be installed.
- Plumbing work has begun below the subfloor level, setting the stage for concrete floors to be poured throughout the new facility.
What’s Next
- Work continues to fully enclose the building, with roofing nearly complete.
- With a fully enclosed building, contractors will begin framing interior spaces and expand interior HVAC and electrical work.
