Construction is about 18 percent complete on the major project to expand and transform facilities at North Commons Park, creating a Northside hub for arts, recreation, athletics and community activities. The project includes a new waterpark, three-gym fieldhouse, lobby, fitness center and renovated community center.

What’s Happening

  • Construction crews completed installation of precast wall panels for the fieldhouse. They’re currently supported by individual steel supports until steel roof trusses are installed in 2026.
  • Construction of the underground stormwater cistern on the site is complete and covered with fill dirt to allow for ice skating this winter.

What’s Next

  • With footings and foundations for the new building’s west wing nearly complete, precast panels for the west wing will be delivered and installed before the end of the year.
