Construction on Jordan Park improvements, along with others park projects, is temporarily delayed

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) recently announced temporary construction delays for improvement projects at Hall and Farwell parks due to high construction bids. Unfortunately, construction is also temporarily delayed on Jordan Park‘s wading pool and restroom building for the same reason: Construction bids the MPRB received were significantly more than the budget for each of these projects

The MPRB is now holding off on getting bids for large park improvement projects across the city, due to high construction bids. It is also committed to completing improvements at Hall, Farwell and Jordan parks as soon as possible. Staff will rebid these projects in late 2022 or January 2023, for construction in 2023. The MPRB believes soliciting bids this winter, rather than during the current busy construction season, will result in acceptable bids within project budgets for these and other park projects across the city.

MPRB thanks North Minneapolis residents and stakeholders for their patience and support as we work to improve parks and park facilities.
