Downtown Parks Program Volunteer
Downtown parks offer engaging weekly and monthly programs that bring the community together, and we’re looking for volunteers to help enhance these experiences! Volunteers will assist with arts, dance, movie nights, and outdoor games, creating a welcoming and fun atmosphere for all participants.

Downtown Parks Events Volunteer
Downtown parks host a variety of exciting events throughout the year, and we need enthusiastic volunteers to help create the best experience possible for our attendees. Events range from outdoor movie nights and concerts to holiday celebrations and community gatherings. Examples include Kick-off to Summer, Red, White and Boom!, K-pop in the Sunset, National Night out and more. This is a great opportunity to be part of fun, engaging events while giving back to the community.

The Commons Garden Volunteer
The Commons Volunteer Gardener plays a key role in maintaining the beauty and health of the garden planter boxes located at the eastern corner of the park (4th Street & Park Avenue). Volunteers will contribute to seasonal garden care, ensuring the space remains vibrant and welcoming for the community.

Volunteer Handbook and Application
Please review our Volunteer Handbook [PDF], which provides an introduction to the Minneapolis Park System and includes volunteer-related policies, procedures and work rules. All volunteers are required to read and comply with the policies contained in the MPRB Volunteer Handbook and any revisions made to it.
All recurring/ongoing volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application online or as a printable PDF before they begin their volunteer duties, which includes an application, background check (to be renewed on an annual basis) and a waiver of liability.
