THIS EVENT WAS POSTPONED IN RESPONSE TO THE TRAGIC, TARGETED SHOOTINGS OF MINNESOTA STATE LAWMAKERS ON JUNE 14.
NEW DATE IS TO BE DETERMINED.
After its closure for years during an improvement project on the neighboring highway, 28th Street Totlot needed its own improvements, which were planned and constructed by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB).
Now we’re ready to celebrate this newly renovated gathering place!
- Join in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and photos in the park
- Enjoy refreshments, play time, lawn games, bubbles
- Make a cut-paper artwork to take home and help inspire public art planned for the New Nicollet development
- Meet and hear brief remarks from local officials
- MPRB: Al Bangoura, Superintendent | Cathy Abene, President |
Elizabeth Shaffer, District 4 Commissioner - Whittier Alliance: Anna Schmitz, Executive Director

MPRB thanks everyone in the Whittier community for their support and patience during this project.
Special thanks to our neighborhood partner, the Whittier Alliance, for:
