Park Board is hiring 6 full-time employees; part-time positions to be listed soon

With construction of the Phillips Aquatics Center project in its final phase, the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) is getting ready to open the first and only indoor swimming facility in the Minneapolis park system.

Preparations include recruiting, hiring and training five full-time lifeguards and a full-time aquatics specialist to work at the center’s two pools: a renovated six-lane competitive pool with a spectator area and a new, four-lane teaching pool. For detailed job descriptions and information about applying, visit www.minneapolisparks.org/jobs. Several part-time employment opportunities at the aquatics center will be listed in the weeks before the grand opening, anticipated for early spring, 2018.

In addition to staffing the aquatics center, MPRB is developing and implementing an operations and maintenance program to make sure the aquatics center runs smoothly and efficiently. Finally, it has been working with partners, including Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) to develop a full slate of public programming, including swim lessons, which will be announced in mid-February.

Stay tuned for updates and for your invitation to grand opening of the Phillips Aquatics Center!
