Construction begins this spring
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is moving forward on improvements project at Bottineau Field Park!
Some people may have noticed that the removal of concrete around the wading pool has begun, in preparation for construction of park improvements later in the year.
In March, contractors will remove existing play equipment and sand to prepare for construction of playground improvements.
Along with the upgraded wading pool and new play areas, planned park improvements include a new splash pad, picnic tables, benches and shade structures, paths, a full-size basketball court and upgraded lighting.
Barring delays for construction or weather, the playground will re-open in September. Other park areas should open in fall, with the renovated pool and new splash pad open for the 2025 season.
What’s open during construction
We know park space is important – especially play space! During construction at Bottineau Park, the skatepark, multi-use field and baseball diamond will remain open. The recreation center will also be open throughout construction.
