The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board thanks everyone who has partnered and shared their feedback with MPRB over more than two years of engagement. MPRB and partners worked hard to gather feedback from the diversity of voices who play at the park.

In the past year, the project team shared different designs for the park for the community to weigh in on, until we reached a final design [PDF]. To the greatest extent possible, this final design incorporates feedback from the community and MPRB staff.

Everyone is encouraged to review the design [PDF] and, if they wish, comment in person or in writing at the public hearing on Wednesday, March 18 at 6:30 pm.

Details on the final design and the hearing are below.

The final design for East Phillips Park [PDF] maintains and improves the following amenities:

  • Baseball field
  • Athletic fields
  • Plaza area
  • Wading pool with interactive splash features
  • Playground
  • Basketball/multi-sport courts
  • Preserved orchard trees

It also includes new amenities and opportunities:

  • Public art
  • Elders garden
