The previously announced construction on Hall Park improvements will now begin in late May, due to scheduling changes.
As shown in the concept plan for the project, this current phase of improvements includes:
- Bikeable sculpture for the bicycle skills course, designed and built by Juxtaposition Arts youth design team
- Bicycle skills course: rough grading, new paths and trail head
- New west side playground equipment, surfacing, concrete curb and surrounding paths
- New site furnishings
- New lighting
- Site landscaping, screening for the playground and general restoration work
Public impacts during construction
Work is expected to last several months, due to changes in construction schedules and delivery times for playground equipment. Completion is expected in September.
The playground on the park’s west side will be closed and access via paths to the tot lot on the east side will be limited. The bridge will be closed periodically during construction. Please keep everyone safe and stay out of fenced construction areas.
Nearby playgrounds to visit during construction:
Lovell Square
Bethune Park
Harrison Park
MPRB will send an update as the start date for construction approaches.
Thanks for your patience and support as MPRB works to improve Minneapolis parks.
