The temporary artwork is based on prints that neighborhood youth made at the park in summer 2019.

Next time you’re at Currie Park, make sure to check out the temporary mural that is now on view on the new restroom building. Local youth may even recognize their own art featured in it! The banner includes art that youth made during a printmaking event hosted by ArtOrg, a local nonprofit arts organization, in Currie Park in July 2019. |

Youth were invited to cut out their own designs and then, using a steamroller, prints were made for the youth to keep. Their designs are now on view in the banner hanging in Currie Park on the new restroom building. A permanent artwork commissioned through the City of Minneapolis’ Art in Public Places program will be installed next year in the same space. |
