At approximately 8:38 p.m. on Friday, May 1, Minneapolis Park Police officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. The call described a large gathering of young adults in the parking lot of Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Prior to officers arriving on scene, multiple gunshots were fired.
A 19-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound and was transported by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries. Three additional individuals with gunshot-related injuries self-transported to hospitals.
The suspects remain at large. The Minneapolis Park Police Department is coordinating with MPD during the preliminary investigation.
