Reminder: Draft plans for Southwest Minneapolis neighborhood parks debut this week!

Plans online February 1; Chat with park designers at any of four family-friendly workshops planned over next two weeks.

Initial concepts outlining long-term plans for more than 40 neighborhood parks in Southwest Minneapolis debut this week!

The first of four Park Design Workshops featuring these park design options (most parks will have two concepts to consider) is Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, 6-8 pm at Lynnhurst Recreation Center, 1345 W Minnehaha Parkway. Park concepts for the Minnehaha Parkway Regional Trail Master Plan will also be on display at this event.

Then the concepts will be posted online on the project page (minneapolisparks.org/sw) this Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, along with an online survey to give feedback.

After that, you can chat with park designers at three more planned public workshops:

Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, 6-8 pm
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, 4055 Nicollet Ave. S

Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, 6-8 pm
Whittier Recreation Center, 425 W 26th St.

Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, 6-8 pm
Jones-Harrison Residence, Centrum Room, 3700 Cedar Lake Ave.

We’re excited to share these concepts after a year of community engagement and design work! Please stop by one of the public workshops or check back on Friday to view the plans!
