Public hearing on July 7: Everyone is welcome to submit comments on the draft concept plan for Kenny Park playground improvements

Individuals are welcome to review the draft concept plan for playground improvements at Kenny Park and submit their comments at a public hearing on Wednesday, July 7 at 6pm. The hearing takes place during a regularly scheduled meeting of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB).

Below you’ll find details on sharing comments, and contact information for project manager Dan Elias, who can answer questions (612-499-3011 / delias@minneapolisparks.org). Playground construction is currently planned for late summer or early fall.

Thanks for helping us improve Minneapolis parks!

Submit your comments at a virtual MPRB public hearing

MPRB is currently holding virtual Board meetings and public hearings – authorized under Minn. Stat. Section 13D.02 – to minimize risks associated with COVID-19.

Most MPRB Commissioners call in to Board meetings, which along with public hearings are broadcast live via webcast and TV and posted on YouTube, usually two days after the meeting.

People have two options to submit comments for a public hearing:

1. Call in by phone (recommended)

  • To sign up, complete this form before 12 noon on July 7 (the day of the hearing)
  • Speakers will receive a conference call-in number and ID one hour before the Board meeting
  • Use the number and ID to call in at the scheduled time for the hearing: 6pm
  • When you call in, the committee chair will provide guidance for commenting
  • Speakers can watch the live meeting broadcast
  • Be aware there is a 20- to 30-second lag between the call and the broadcast
  • When you are called on to speak, please remember turn off the sound from the broadcast on your computer or device

2. Write in and send by email
