Please Attend the First Open House for Park Improvements at Bryn Mawr Meadows Park

The MPRB, Bassett Creek Watershed Management Commission, and the City of Minneapolis are hosting an open house at Bryn Mawr Meadows Park to kick off the park improvements project. This is the first public meeting. We’ll be introducing you to the project and getting your feedback on what you’d like to see.

The MPRB currently has about $3.7 million for this project which will cover many improvements, but not all, which are noted in the park master plan linked below. We’d like your input on what elements of the park’s master plan you’d like to see implemented with this project. Please check it out here:

In addition to the park project, the Bassett Creek Watershed Management Commission, the City of Minneapolis, and the MPRB will be constructing a stormwater quality project within the northern area of the park. This stormwater pond collaboration will be coupled seamlessly with the park improvements project. The projects can be considered one large project.

Community engagement, design, and engineering will take place this summer and fall. Construction will begin in spring 2022 and be completed that fall. Reconstructed athletic fields will open back up for play in spring 2023 when the turf is fully established. Areas of the park will remain open throughout the project, including the Luce Line Trail and the ball fields on the south end of the park.

This meeting will be an open house and you may attend any time between 6pm and 8pm. You’ll be able to talk with staff and consultants from the MPRB, Watershed Commission, and the City.
