The current phase of playground improvements at Lake Hiawatha Park is nearing completion!
This week, weather permitting, contractors are installing resilient poured-in-place surfacing and engineered wood fiber in the 2-5-year-old and 5-12-year-old play areas.
Following the surfacing installation and a full inspection, those play areas will re-open – likely during the week of November 3.
Updates to the third play area (closest to the basketball court) are planned for next spring and include nature-play-like elements such as a sand table, sand diggers, tree trunks and log slices.
MPRB thanks everyone for their patience and support while we work to improve Minneapolis parks.
