On August 5, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) announced that removal of playground equipment at Lake Hiawatha playground was to begin that same week.
However, the contractor has experienced an unanticipated delay, so the removal of equipment has been delayed until mid-September. This will minimize the length of time the playground is closed.
We’ll send another update before the equipment removal begins.
MPRB thanks everyone for their patience and support while we work to improve Minneapolis parks.
