With the concept plan for Northeast Athletic Field Park playground improvements approved during the summer, construction of the playground is scheduled to begin the week of October 25.
Construction this fall includes site preparation and grading for new play areas southwest of the waterpark area. It is expected to continue for about six weeks, but is dependent upon the weather. During that time, please stay out of fenced areas and pay attention to signage at the site.
Additional construction work at the park is planned for 2022:
- Installation of play equipment and surfacing
- Athletic field improvements (fields located along Fillmore Street)
- Stormwater management improvements
- Tennis courts improvements
