The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is at the beginning stages of the process for the improvements project. The project will follow the guidelines set by the North Service Area Master Plan for this park. Several improvements will be considered and prioritized by the community and MPRB staff for the inclusion in this project. The City of Minneapolis and the Bassett Creek watershed Management Commission are working together to incorporate stormwater management infrastructure within the park to help clean the stormwater before it reaches Bassett Creek. The project is funded by the Watershed Commission. Additionally, the City of Minneapolis is going to be replacing the sanitary sewer that runs from Laurel Ave N to Irving Ave N.
