Phelps Park stormwater project will continue through winter

A contractor hired by the City of Minneapolis is replacing a pump station at Phelps Park. Work is primarily focused near the corner of East 39th Street and Park Avenue.

The tennis court will be removed to allow for construction and eventually it will be replaced by a basketball court after work is completed, per the recently passed Phelps Park Master Plan [PDF].

The project will extend into the winter, with restoration work planned in spring 2017. Please stay away from areas where construction is taking place. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board appreciates the public’s patience while this critical stormwater management and flood prevention project is completed.
