Next Minnehaha Parkway Regional Trail Master Plan CAC meeting scheduled December 17Posted on 27 November, 2019
Focus shifts away from parkway road proposals and back to other park elements
The next Minnehaha Parkway Regional Trail Master Plan Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting is scheduled Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, 6-8 pm at Lake Nokomis Community Center, 2401 E Minnehaha Parkway.
After a series of meetings that focused almost entirely on the parkway road, it is important to turn attention back to other project elements, including stormwater management, flood mitigation, trails and recreation facilities. Proposals for the parkway road itself will not be discussed; that will return to the forefront in January. Topics for CAC Meeting #10 include:
Segment 1 [PDF]
West of Lynnhurst Park, including the Penn/Newton Focus Area
Segment 1 is the westernmost portion of the park, stretching from the western city limits to Lynnhurst Park. Proposals for the parkway road near Lynnhurst will not be discussed.
Segment 2 [PDF]
Lynnhurst Park to I-35W
The proposed activity area at Nicollet Hollow will be discussed, along with other design ideas in this segment.
Segment 3 [PDF]
East of Portland Avenue
Design ideas in the corridor stretching eastward to Cedar Avenue will be discussed. The area around the Portland/Parkway/50th intersection will not be discussed.
Segment 4 [PDF], the eastern end of the corridor between 28th Avenue and Minnehaha Avenue, has been previously discussed and generally recommended by the CAC.
All CAC meetings are open to the public and people will have the opportunity to speak on each segment.
