The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is pleased to announce that contractors are removing the construction fence at the Lynnhurst Park playground, and the playground will once again be open today.
Nearly all of planned improvements are complete, including:
- imaginative play structure for 2-5-year-olds
- new accessible swing and refurbished swings
- slider/zipline
- monkey bars
- multiple slides
- sand play
- engineered wood fiber (playground mulch) and rubber surfacing
The climbing boulder is the final item to complete the project. Due to delays in manufacturing and shipping, it will be installed in spring 2026.
Once the boulder is in place, MPRB will host a community ribbon cutting celebration. We will share details next spring!
Thanks for your support while MPRB works to improve Minneapolis parks.
