MPRB staff are in consultation with the City of Minneapolis to potentially add a new public park to a 10-acre redevelopment site owned by the City on Lake Street. The City recently launched Phase III of engagement for the New Nicollet Redevelopment (former Kmart site). During this phase, they are asking the community to share thoughts about property uses and buildings on the site by completing a survey. The survey is open now through Friday, November 8 at 4 p.m.

The City plans to construct Nicollet Avenue between Lake Street and Cecil Newman Lane. After road construction, the City will work in partnership to develop the remaining site into a high-density, mixed-use, walkable area that may include a new public park operated by MPRB.
