Over the years the wood retaining wall west of the parkway near 26th St E has degraded and now is in need of replacement. The degradation of the wall has caused significant cracking along the pedestrian trail and portions of the bicycle trail.
Design and engineering work for the reconstruction of the regional trail and adjacent retaining wall has begun. The project will consist of reconstructing the wood retaining wall with a more durable modular concrete block retaining wall, reconstructing the wood fence, and the repaving the pedestrian trail and portions of the bicycle trail.
Construction is scheduled for Fall 2020. Detours for both pedestrians and cyclists will be in place while construction is underway.
