MPRB Prepares for Phase One Improvements at Hiawatha Service Center

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is making improvements to the Hiawatha Maintenance Facility in 2026. Improvements will include a new 1,800 square foot, single story, park operations building adjacent to the existing brick building at the corner of Longfellow Avenue and Minnehaha Parkway.

The park operations building will have offices for staff, a small kitchenette and lunch area, and restrooms. The project will also include a small lit parking lot, security fence, and green stormwater infrastructure. This work will give MPRB employees safe, secure, and dignified spaces to perform their duties maintaining our parks.
