Thanks to all who attended the virtual open house/project update on June 16, hosted by project staff from the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and consultants.
Materials from the event are now available on right side of the Cedar-Riverside Recreation Center Predesign project page:
- June 16 Presentation [PDF]
- June 16 Notes / Q&A [PDF]
During the open house, project staff provided several key project updates:
- The response to COVID-19 has delayed the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) process, with project completion now anticipated in late fall of 2020. CAC meetings will be rescheduled for dates when engagement can occur in person. If that is not possible, virtual CAC meetings will be planned.
- This extended schedule will not delay MPRB’s application for State funding for the Design and Construction project.
- MPRB is now focusing on a single recreation center predesign report in the western portion of Cedar-Riverside to supplement or expand the existing services provided at the Brian Coyle Community Center.
- Recreation center options that were presented will be expanded upon in future documents; these will be available to the public for review and comment.
