Lake Harriet Bandshell Repair Update: Roof repairs begin next week

This fall the roofs of the Bandshell and neighboring concessions building will be replaced in separate, roughly month-long phases

The second phase of Lake Harriet Bandshell repairs begins next week. First, the Bandshell roof will be replaced, then work will move to the roofs of neighboring buildings. Work is expected to be complete by late fall, weather permitting.

The first phase of repairs were completed in spring and early summer. Bandshell windows were updated, bathrooms were remodeled so that they are accessible, electrical systems were upgraded, and, most noticeably, building sidewalls were painted blue. The shade of blue chosen closely matches the blue the Bandshell sported in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Concessions will be offered at Bread and Pickle into October. It’s currently open daily, 9 am-8 pm.

Please stay away from areas under construction, follow onsite safety signs and do not go into areas that are fenced off. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board appreciates the public’s patience as the Bandshell is repaired.
