Roofs will be replaced on boat launch building and picnic shelter
A project to repair and improve the Lake Harriet Bandshell area continues this fall!
This phase will replace the roofs on the boat launch building and picnic shelter, and doors at the Bandshell. Work is scheduled to finish at the end of November.
Work over the last three years has been primarily scheduled in the spring and fall to accommodate summer events and concessions. Previous phases included repairing the Bandshell and its concessions building, repainting all of the area buildings blue, and sprucing up the space with new gardens and seating.
The boat launch will remain open under its standard fall season operation. Call 612-346-5433 to request an aquatic invasive species inspector to check your boat and open the launch. Hours are 7 am-8 pm daily.
Please stay away from areas under construction, follow onsite signs, and do not move, climb or go around fences. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board appreciates the public’s patience while this iconic regional park destination is repaired.
