Join us to celebrate the newly revitalized Peavey Park!
Posted on 23 May, 2019It’s time to celebrate the completion of nearly two years of construction at Peavey Park.
Friday, May 31 from 2 pm to 4 pm
This special event features:
- Brief program with remarks from local officials
- Ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new playground
- Face painter, refreshments and music
People slated to attend include students from nearby Hope Academy on their last day of school, along with Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) Superintendent Al Bangoura, Vice-President and District 3 Commissioner AK Hassan, City Councilmember Abdi Warsame, County Commissioner Angela Conley, and friends and neighbors from your Peavey community.
Explore and enjoy a host of improvements at the park, including:
- 3 new full basketball courts
- new play areas
- new picnic pavilion
- new central pathway through the park
- additional paths, lighting, site grading and rain gardens
- new multi-use athletic field (opening Fall 2019, after turf grass is well established)
