About the recreation center renovation
This major project at Stewart Recreation Center began construction in May 2025 and brought a host of upgrades and replacements to the center, including:
- New front desk and lobby/lounge
- Air conditioning
- New restrooms
- Updated crafts room and kitchen
- New floors, windows and doors
- New roof
- New heating system
The project also constructed the park’s playground last summer, which opened in September 2025.
These improvements follow the 2021 project that constructed a 6,000-square-foot multiuse field in the park, along with fencing, path and drainage updates.
