About the proposed design concept for Harrison Park

The concept was guided by community feedback, as well as recommendations from the park’s approved long-term plan, site analysis, and available funding. Improvements include:

  • Playground destination with adventure play structures, topography that merges the two existing play areas and upgraded ADA access and surfacing
  • Plaza with pavilion near existing wading pool
  • Renovation of existing basketball court
  • New multiuse court for basketball, pickleball, tennis, and other sports
  • Upgraded multi-use field with one backstop and ballfield remaining
  • Updated pathways
  • Additional plantings throughout the park

Next Steps

Following the public hearing, Park Board Commissioners will consider public input and vote on whether to approve the proposed design concept. If approved, the improvements project moves into the final design and construction phases.

Thanks for your support as MPRB works to improve Minneapolis parks.
