The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is pleased to announce that Farwell Park has fully re-opened following this year’s improvements project.
The new and expanded playground features swings, a spinner, music elements, slides and climbers, a structure geared to 5-12 year-olds, and a play area geared to 2-5 year-olds; with ADA wood fiber and resilient surfacing and safety fencing.
Other new improvements and amenities include a picnic area and drinking fountain; paths and ADA pedestrian ramps; benches, bike racks and bike fix-it station; and plantings and restored turf areas that are pollinator-friendly. Crews will complete some minor remaining work in the spring, but the park will remain open at that time.
MPRB is grateful for the support from and collaboration with:
- Northside Residents Redevelopment Council
- Neighborhood and community members
- TKDA, St. Croix Recreation and Sunram Construction (consulting and contracting services)
