Image above, from late October, shows work on new paths based on the concept plan shown below. New play areas will be constructed to the left of the central oval area, which will be a lawn for formal and informal events and games.
After breaking ground in August, construction continues through late fall on the project to overhaul the east side of Elliot Park.
Earthwork and grading for most of the site is complete. Construction of park paths and patio areas is underway, along with play areas and a parking lot on the southeast side of the park.
After a pause through winter months, construction will resume as early as possible in spring and include landscaping throughout the park, remaining sidewalks, and the park’s new splash pad.

Elliot Recreation Center, the park’s athletic field and skatepark all remain open throughout construction!
Check out the recreation center’s robust slate of programs and activities, including many for youth that are free or fully discountable.
