Development Schedule Affects East Bank Trail Alignment within the Scherer SitePosted on 13 March, 2015
The schedule for permitting and funding for construction of the Hall’s Island project within Scherer Brothers site will affect the alignment of the East Bank Trail in that area. During the fall 2014 planning process for the East Bank Trail, it was hoped that the grading of the Scherer site would be complete by the spring of 2016 when the construction of the East Bank Trail is scheduled to begin. However, because of the Hall’s Island project costs and funding, it is likely that the Scherer site grading will not be complete until 2017. SRF Consulting Inc., the engineer for the East Bank Trail, is preparing construction plans that show the trail alignment in Scherer following Sibley Street NE and 10th Avenue NE, instead of an arc alignment that crosses under the Plymouth Avenue.
