In October, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) noted that that construction began on a second phase of improvements at Cleveland Park. Work has paused for the winter and will begin again next spring once weather allows. Improvements at the park include:
- Full and half-size basketball courts
- Small bankshot-style court
- Multi-use field improvements
- Outdoor fitness area
- Updated picnic area
- Lighting, path and security improvements
- Mural on restroom/pool maintenance building
We would like to thank the students and teacher of Lucy Laney Craft Elementary School, along with the artists from Modern Day Me, who worked this fall to design and bring to life the fun and colorful new mural on the building. Final touches are expected to be completed over the next couple of weeks, with a celebration of their hard work planned for next year at a grand opening of the park.
While much of the park is closed due to construction, please enjoy the playground, which will remain open this winter!
