Construction on a new ‘adventure course’ playground at Northeast Athletic Field Park is scheduled to resume Tuesday, April 19, 2022. The new playground is located behind Jim Lupient Water Park, near Northeast Recreation Center. Playground construction is expected to be complete by the end of May, weather dependent.
Construction on improvements to the athletic fields along Fillmore Street NE is expected to begin this fall and finish by spring 2023.
Northeast Athletic Field Park improvements are based on the park’s master plan and the 2020 East of the River Master Plan that covers all neighborhood parks in Northeast/Southeast Minneapolis.
