The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is pleased to announce that construction begins in June on the new playground and other improvements at Farwell Park.
As shown in the concept plan above (full plan here), the Farwell Park project includes:
- New playground equipment, surfacing, curb and surrounding paths
- Accessible pedestrian ramps into the park
- Bike racks, a bike fix-it station, benches, picnic tables and other site furnishings
- Native landscape plantings and turf restoration using a pollinator-friendly turf mix
Public impacts during construction
Work is expected to last several months, due to schedules for contractors and delivery of new playground equipment. The project is expected to be complete in September.
