Construction nears completion; grand opening celebration scheduled for May 31

Construction crews return to Peavey Park in April and May to complete the major overhaul of the park. Finishing touches include:
Play area: When the weather is warm enough, resilient rubber surfacing will be installed.
New swings: Thanks to additional funding from Ventura Village Neighborhood Association, a new set of swings will be added to the playground in 2019.
Turf establishment: The athletic field and some other park areas will remain closed until fall to ensure that turf grass is well established. Please do not enter any fenced areas where grass is growing.
Welcome back! After installation of the play area surfacing, all areas of the park that are not fenced will open for use. Another email announcement will be sent when that happens.
Grand opening celebration: Save the date for a neighborhood celebration on May 31, 2 to 4pm – details coming soon.
