Construction workers have begun work again at Bryn Mawr Meadows Park. Work will continue as weather allows through June for most of the work. The play area equipment and bicycle skills park features will be installed in late summer. The new athletic fields will remain off limits through summer to allow for the grow-in of the grass. Other portions of the park will be temporarily fenced and closed to allow for establishment of the natural prairie plantings.
Current work includes the closure of the intersection of Laurel and Morgan Avenues to connect the City’s new water quality ponds to the storm sewer pipes that run under Laurel Avenue. Besides the sewer pipe connection, the work at the intersection will result in four new pedestrian ramps that will provide better and easier access to the park and along Morgan Avenue.
Two, possibly three, neighbors near the intersection may have limited access to their driveway for one day while a section of pipe is being installed. Information about the timing of this access will be sent directly to those impacted homes. Contact information for the contractor will also be included. The contractor will do everything they can to accurately predict the date of the work impacting driveway access.
The cricket practice area, the trail on the exterior of the park, and the three fields on the southwest end of the park will remain open for the duration of the project. Please pay careful attention to parking restriction on Morgan Avenue.
Thank you for your patience as the MPRB, City, and Watershed District works in your neighborhood.
