Bde Maka Ska Pavilion Rebuild Update

Bathrooms expected to open in August as work continues on construction and kitchen build-out

Construction crews are working hard to finish rebuilding the Bde Maka Ska Pavilion area!

Landscaping, boat launch reconstruction and indoor finishes are complete. New indoor bathrooms are scheduled to open in August and construction could be complete by September.

Remaining tasks include finishing outdoor concrete work, which is expected this week, and completing work on pavilion ceiling paneling, building exterior finishes, and electrical/mechanical systems.

Kitchen build-out for a restaurant from Pimento Jamaican Kitchen begins this week. Stay tuned for more details on exciting new lakeside concessions and events from the Pimento team!

The biking and walking trails are still combined north of the pavilion and will remain that way until the site reopens. Bikers, please dismount and walk through the area.

About the Bde Maka Ska Pavilion Rebuild Project

The project will create two new buildings, including new, all-gender accessible restrooms and ample outdoor public seating to replace the building that burned down in 2019. The site will reopen to the public this summer. Please stay away from construction areas while work continues.

The Minneapolis Sailing Center and Wheel Fun Rentals are operating at northeast Bde Maka Ska this season. Visit the Bde Maka Ska Refectory Rebuild project page and subscribe to email updates for construction updates
