Attend September meetings to review and discuss preferred master plan concepts

Thank you to all of the community members working together to create the East of the River Park Master Plan! 

The outpouring of ideas and passion for NE/SE neighborhood parks has been amazing! In addition to seven Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings and engaging with park users at dozens of park and community events, nearly 1,000 responses were received through the online survey.

Now we enter the last phase of the planning process, in which the CAC recommends one concept for all 33 Minneapolis neighborhood park properties east of the Mississippi River, as well as identifying areas for new park connections in NE/SE Minneapolis.

All of the preferred concepts for the 33 neighborhood park properties in NE/SE Minneapolis will be presented and discussed at CAC Meeting #9 on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, 5:30-8:30 pm at Waite Recreation Center, 1810 34th Ave. NE. Discussion of all neighborhood park concepts will continue at CAC Meeting #10 on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, 5:30-8:30 pm at Van Cleve Recreation Center, 901 15th Ave. SE.

The Regional Trails Work Group will also meet to discuss recommendations for new park connections in NE/SE Minneapolis, including the Grand Rounds Missing Link. That meeting is scheduled Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, 5-6:30 pm at Logan Recreation Center, 690 13th Ave. NE. As always, these meetings are open to the public and there will be food and children’s activities provided.

After the three public meetings listed below, the CAC-recommended concepts will be posted online for a 45-day public comment period.
